Today the Kitoki live both in Western and Rift Valley Provinces and number approximately 1.2 million. Because of transgression and sin, they have been forced to live in fear and subjugation, consequently adapting different languages suited to their location of present day settlement.Widely referred to as the Tachoni, they appear as small pockets in Bungoma, Busia, Kakamega, Lugari, Mt. Elgon, Trans Nzoia and Uasin Gishu districs.O'Prince Chetambe traces their beliefs and practices and discovers a community rich in mythology and myth and contribution to peopling of Western and Rift Valley provinces. Their relationship with their God El, provides a strong framework of enlightenment and reveals the hidden secrets among the African communities with their maker.
